The primary focus of this Singles’ Ministry is to provide a safe place for Christian singles to fellowship with other singles in a Christ-centered environment. The focus age group is 30′s to 50.
The churches nation wide have moved away from organized meeting places for young and adult singles. Currently, in Colorado Springs we are not aware of one church hosting a singles ministry for the 30′s and 40′s. There are a few groups for the twenties, and even that age group is having a harder time to find a place to meet for Christian community.
Gen X-Y was started for that reason. In November of 2014, we started a home study group. It provided a location to connect. Our vision for a growing and healthy group was limited in that format.
On July 11, 2016 we restarted the group. We changed the leadership and vision for this age group. We are focusing on two key areas as we reach this group.
1) We needed a group with a stable spiritual environment that provides strong biblical principles. We will have in depth discussion groups which deal with intellectually stimulating topics that address current issues that affect singles today as well as traditional bible studies.
2) We need a group with social functions that promote healthy relationships that enable you to learn about yourself and others of the opposite gender. This will be done with fun-filled activities that promote friendships and networking opportunities.
